Despite the heat, “Old Yella” perennial hibiscus has been full of blooms. Each bloom makes me smile, it is so beautiful. This picture was taken in early morning and the filtered sunlight was shining through on the bloom. So pretty.

Last year it rained so much I nearly lost my entire bed of summer phlox to powdery mildew. This year the weather has been near drought conditions but my phlox is just thriving. Glad to see our favorite miniature moth hummingbird like bug come to visit too during the evenings.
Paul and I are so glad that Mom, Dad, Keith, Courtney and Debbie are here to join in the festivities today.
