A Perfect Weekend

I love to spend time with Brian. This weekend I enjoyed watching him work on all the arrangements for their trip to Antigua Guatemala. Amazing. He and Jennifer are going to have such a great time. While they are gone, I will sit in the garden and enjoy all the flowers of fall.

Our Christmas tree is up, decorations are hung and shopping will soon begin for the holiday season, however, the weather in Big D is not Christmas-like. Daylight savings time is over today and we fall back with one more hour of sleep tonight. But there are so many buds left to bloom in the yard and I fear that Old Man Winter is right around the corner. Enjoy every minute of the remaining days of this sweet season because soon the garden will be gone for another year.

A Look Back at a Magnificent Visitor

Tonight I came across a picture I took of a grasshopper that visited our garden on August 30, 2008. As there has been nothing to post about recently with all this winter weather and in extreme anticipation and celebration of Big D rounding the turn towards the most anxiously awaited spring in P&B’s Garden History I thought he would be magnificently appropriate.

60 degrees and sunny on Wednesday. Hope to this guy again real soon!

Today I actually got home when it was light out !!! and I got to see my roses blooming…………………What a treat !!

Belinda’s Dream and Generation Y

This summer I was working on a project for my industry. My daughter moved in with us for a few months and through her I learned the latest technology and marketing skills which helped me fulfill this huge initiative for my profession.

Through the eyes of this young Gen Y’er, who clicks the mouse much faster and quicker than this 50 something Baby Boomer, I got to visit behind the scenes of an new industry that is very innovative and remarkable. I not only learned about Drupal and social marketing, I learned more about who my daughter is and about her Generation Y.

Today after several hours of work on the project I can finally get back to my love of gardening. As I admire my blooming Belinda’s Dream Rose and enjoy its exquisite frangrance, I find that it too is so very remarkable, almost as much as our new Generation Y who no doubt will change the look of Corporate America.

Flowers and Friendships Continue to Bloom Year after Year !

This rose produces a beautiful array of blooms every year and never fails me, just like my friendship with my two special friends Carey and Wendy. This weekend we had a wonderful time on a girls trip to McKinney, TX, great shops, great food, lots of laughter and wonderful memories. When I got back home I found this lovely rose blooming in my back yard.

I am so thankful for Flowers and Friendships that continue to Bloom Year after Year !!
