Flowers and Friendships Continue to Bloom Year after Year !

This rose produces a beautiful array of blooms every year and never fails me, just like my friendship with my two special friends Carey and Wendy. This weekend we had a wonderful time on a girls trip to McKinney, TX, great shops, great food, lots of laughter and wonderful memories. When I got back home I found this lovely rose blooming in my back yard.

I am so thankful for Flowers and Friendships that continue to Bloom Year after Year !!

Love you guys very much !! and thank you Chrysler Imperial Pink Rose !! What a perfect weekend !

Where Has Paul Been This Summer?

Many of you have called Paul to play golf or go out on your boat, or just hang out this summer and heard him say …. “I am sorry, I can’t go….. I am working on my yard project”. This did not sound like Paul to you….and I am sure you wondered what was going on. Paul worked a small miracle this summer and cleaned up a giant mess. I think he is brillant !!

Everyday I go outside immediately when I get home from work to see what has bloomed in the garden.

OMG……. Our old shade garden has bloomed a pond !!!

But I can’t cry over spilled non-harvested rain water……..

…..should have learned by now to think with my head not my heart……..

Kevon told me that he set up Vonnie with email so she is our newest follower of life at PB Garden. I think it is great that everyone near or far from Dallas Fort Worth to Bangkok to Chicago, to Pennsylvania to Scottsdale, to Florida and back can visit us whenever they want to ……..and be part of our home. Flashback – “Then and Now”

Every so often we need to go back and look at our progress at PB Garden. So from time to time I will post Flashback – “Then and Now”.

Paul transformed our ordinary back porch into a Key West Get get-away (inspired by a pub in the Keys called “Grunts”) which we stopped at on our trip with Kevon and Debbie. So now, everyone can stop by Grunts anytime for a little bit of Key West right here in Bedford at PB Garden !!

Inspirations and Ideas for PB Garden from our Fabulous East Coast

Last weekend I went to the coast of Maine with my three girlfriends, Marcie, Claudia and Barbara. We had a wonderful time and it was great to get away but of course I missed Paul , but he took good care of PB Garden while I was gone. Here are pictures of two flower pot arrangements that gave me some ideas.

We visited a beautiful “Public Garden” in Boston, MA before we headed up the coast. The roses were still in bloom and I tried to capture one with the statue of a war hero unknown to me but honored in this park.

We took a walk in this park along a pathway that brought us to the most lovely fall reflection. It was so beautiful it was hard to capture on a still picture. I would like to someday have a water effect in PB garden under our oak tree.

I am so grateful for my friends and the fact that I am able to afford to go on girlfriend trips with them. These memories will always stay with me and be an inspiration back home in PB Garden.

Woodworking and my Dad

When I was growing up Dad used to make things out of wood. Just like my Mom’s flowers, I did not think about it much then. But, this summer when Dad came to visit, he and Paul worked on a project refinishing our outside table. Paul learned new techniques and I learned some things about Dad. Dad’s trade of woodworking has been perfected over his life and I am glad he is passing what he knows to Paul and I hope that someday Brian will be interested in learning as well We will save all the tools for Brian if he is. Thanks Dad for a piece of furniture that I will always treasure as I think back on the memories I have of you and Paul working on this project together this summer. You are both special men in my life and I love you.

A few weeks ago Paul went to the scrap yard and found a great door. If you had asked me anything about what we would do with a door, I would not have known. But Paul had ideas and I just love when he does. This is the start of the project we are going to call “Lizzie Lane”. Glad John Paul was here this weekend for a visit, we missed him. More to come on this project.
