Delightful and Surprising Ornamental Kale

You would never know that this plant that looks like a cabbage head all winter long will surprise you in the early spring with a tall lovely yellow flower coming out from the center.  I put one on each side of my roses and throughout my garden for winter color and then look forward to seeing these beautiful blooms in April.  Amazing multi-purpose beauty for two seasons !!  Enjoy.

These are amazing! I planted a purple “head” of flowering kale in the fall. The blanket of early snow in upstate NY covered this hardy plant. Right now 3/16/09 the plant is two feet tall with yellow flowers! It’s gorgeous!

The bottom of the stalk is about 6 inches out of the ground and the whole plant leans to the side. How do I take care of this gem? I have two thumbs and neither is green!

    Thanks for the pictures!
