Summer Phlox

Last year it rained so much I nearly lost my entire bed of summer phlox to powdery mildew.  This year the weather has been near drought conditions but my phlox is just thriving.  Glad to see our favorite miniature moth hummingbird like bug come to visit too during the evenings.

Happy 4th of July

Paul and I are so glad that Mom, Dad, Keith, Courtney and Debbie are here to join in the festivities today.

White Rock East Garden Tour

As you know, my favorite garden tour in Dallas is the White Rock East Garden Tour.  It was held on May 22.   I went with my fellow gardener and friend, Kathy.  While on this tour, we sometimes forgot we were in Dallas and it was very hard to choose our favorite garden as they were all so unique in their own way.

This gardener re-purposed crutches to make a trellis and rakes to make a wreath.  Her guest house at the back of the garden was decorated with the most exquisite bed and furnishings.  Lovely.  I will post more gardens on the tour later this week.  Enjoy !

For Mittens

The garden seemed very empty today but her sweet spirit will live on.  We will miss you Mittens.

Blue Jay Sighting

On Saturday we saw this lovely Blue Jay sitting on the bird bath.

And then he took a dive…..

A Lovely May Day
