We are So Tired of Watering

The Dallas Morning News reports 100 plus degrees through Sunday. While most everything else is rather crispy around the edges, the "Pride of Barbados" is one of our tropical flowers that is holding its own.

Texas Is Hot Hot Hot

Despite the heat, "Old Yella" perennial hibiscus has been full of blooms. Each bloom makes me smile, it is so beautiful. This picture was taken in early morning and the filtered sunlight was shining through on the bloom. So pretty.

Garden Gate

I am so happy that our garden gate is fixed and I can finally open it again !! One thing off Paul's list to do.

Thank you Dad and Keith !!? I loved having you here !

Summer Phlox

Last year it rained so much I nearly lost my entire bed of summer phlox to powdery mildew. This year the weather has been near drought conditions but my phlox is just thriving. Glad to see our favorite miniature moth hummingbird like bug come to visit too during the evenings.

Happy 4th of July

Paul and I are so glad that Mom, Dad, Keith, Courtney and Debbie are here to join in the festivities today.

God Bless America !

Texas Bird of Paradise
