It's January. After the Christmas stuff is put away it is a pretty long, gray, boring month. We leave for work in the dark in the morning and come home in the dark at night.

Beautiful Outside Today

Even though I have been fighting a cold this weekend, it was lovely to putter in the garden for awhile this afternoon. Fall color and cannas were still in bloom. Paul was busy cleaning the leaves out of the pool and watching the Cowboy Game.

Biltmore Mansion

Several years ago we went on a girlfriend's trip to the Biltmore Mansion. The gardens were beautiful. I saw some great ideas for re-purposing wine bottles and corks into our garden.

David Austin Roses

When we started building our garden, we chose Knock Out Roses, the easiest rose to grow here in North Texas. Three years ago, I discovered the David Austin Rose. They are a lovely, fragrant English Rose.

Fall is Officially Here

Today I looked up and saw that the tree is starting to turn colors at the very top. It won't be long now and all the leaves will be on the ground.
