Snaps !! Snaps and more Snaps !!

I love snapdragons. They are so beautiful in color and so nice and puffy !! Today they made me feel better when I went out to PB Garden to see what was blooming. I wish I could have spent all day in the garden today, but maybe next weekend.

Welcome back Lizzie !!

Here is the first lizard of Spring 2009 peaking his head out of the rose arbor.

So many flowers ....so little dirt

Today I started two new flower beds outside of the new arbor.

I love my flower pot sprinklers

How proud I am of my daughter Jennifer everyday.

Three Generations of Gardeners

Today I was looking back through some old photographs and ran across one of my Grandma in her garden. The year was 1969, it was 40 years ago. There was no sprinkler system, fancy soil in a bag, or fertilizer......

Peonies

This morning I saw the little heads of the peony bush peeking out. When some people see my peony bush, they say "oh you must be from the Midwest" because you sure don't see any around here. In Texas they call it PEONY just like it is spelled, but we Chicagoan's call it PEENY.

My best friend

Today I am very thankful for my best friend Paul and the beauty of our garden.  Can't wait for Spring !

Flashback - Then and Now

As we prepare for spring it is a great time to flashback and look at the evolution of the garden over the past almost 6 years. Our garden has evolved into an inspiration for neighbors and friends who ask us for help in building their own gardens.
