Last weekend I went to the coast of Maine with my three girlfriends, Marcie, Claudia and Barbara. We had a wonderful time and it was great to get away but of course I missed Paul :), but he took good care of PB Garden while I was gone.

[gallery] Next weekend is the Rose Festival in Tyler Texas but I will be on my girlfriends trip for lobsters and leaves in Southern Maine. So on Saturday Paul and I drove to Tyler to view the Rose Garden at what they say is the most exquisite time, right before or during the Rose Festival.

I came home tonite at 8:30 after a 12 hour day. I just got through with a meeting that I have prepared for monthly a total of 84 times in the last seven years. One part of the agenda is a report I have prepared 168 times in the last 15 years. Why am I counting all of a sudden?

When I was growing up Dad used to make things out of wood. Just like my Mom's flowers, I did not think about it much then. But, this summer when Dad came to visit, he and Paul worked on a project refinishing our outside table. Paul learned new techniques and I learned some things about Dad.

This weekend I had planned to clean the garage and the office while Paul was in Austin. I just could not get motivated because I did not want to be in the hot garage or inside the house at all. Something was calling me to the garden.

Today I could not wait to get home to spend time in the yard before I went to workout. Our cannas have been blooming beautifully all year and today one of our garden friends came by to take a rest on one of the leaves. Meet Lizzie Below.

Today Paul put the final coat on the stain and the paint. The latterns we found were perfect. The next thing we are going to do is design the landscape.
