It is hard to believe that just two weeks ago these birds were splashing around in our fountain in the front yard. Since then, the schools have been closed several days and the city has stood still due to snow and cold weather.

Last weekend Big D celebrated beautiful temperatures and sunny days and this beautiful snapdragon was full of buds and ready to bloom.

On Saturday, I was planting pansies in just a sweater outside and today its snowing, but I am not complaining. Its January 8th and this is the first bad weather we have had here in Big D.

As the song goes...."Everybody's Working for the Weekend".... When the weekend comes, we are overwhelmed with all the projects and things we have to get done in two short days.

Our Christmas tree is up, decorations are hung and shopping will soon begin for the holiday season, however, the weather in Big D is not Christmas-like.

A blanket of leaves has covered our garden and the bottom of our pool. I made a visit to Redenta's Garden and started my winter bulbs. Paul worked on the garage and planned what projects he wanted to finish on his week off. For me, back to work tomorrow !!

Today was a perfect day !

To make this arrangement, I start with a shallow glass bowl and fill it with red gems. Next I place about 13 paperwhites into the gems and fill the bowl with water to the top of the bulb. I place the bowl in a warm place for 2 weeks and then move it to a room with indirect, bright sunlight.
