This is a new hibiscus for me this year, Kopper King. Darker leaves and a huge pink flower with dark center. I am running out of room but I am sure I will find a permanent spot for this beauty. Happy Summer !!

Texas soil is far cry from the rich earth in North Dakota where my Grandmother grew her hollyhocks. I have been trying for several years to carry on her tradition and get them to grow here but they tend to get rust on their leaves. I finally got one to do pretty good in the back yard this year.

My all time favorite garden tour is coming up !!

This is a happy weekend for me because Ma and Dad are here from Chicago. Today, we went on a garden tour of five homes with the Colleyville Garden Club. There were some very pretty yards, but I think our yard is the best. Below are our rocket snap dragons at their peak.

All our roses are in bloom. I need to take after this rose, called "Easy Going "........
